Responsibilities
The Nutrition Manager's role is to lead, manage and provide technical support for planning and smooth operation of nutrition activities within Syria mission. The Nutrition Manager leads nutrition assessments, designs and is responsible for implementation of program interventions, integrates nutrition activities with other programs as needed, and in compliance with international standards. The Nutrition Manager supports proposal development, data management, and reporting; hires, trains, and mentors’ personnel, volunteers, and partners; and coordinates with relevant actors, sector, sub-sectors, working groups, government bodies, other organizations, and partners.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the nutrition staff and providing technical support and capacity building of the team to successfully plan, implement and monitor International Medical Corps nutrition program activities.
- Organize and support all aspects of the nutrition program including liaising with the Ministry of Health, the nutrition sector, other international and national agencies, and donors.
- Responsible for ensuring that the nutrition programs are implemented in line with the Ministry’s guidelines and international humanitarian standards and donor guidelines.
- Provision of technical backstopping and conducting nutrition training, reviewing program reports, surveys and monitoring and evaluation reports.
- Develop and manage the nutrition interventions related budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Effectively coordinate for program development, donors reporting and other related aspects with IMC Global Nutrition Advisor/s at HQ and other international program team members.
- Perform any other required tasks as per the Direct Supervisor request.

Qualifications
- Minimum a Bachelor degree in Nutrition or related field from recognized learning institution.Preferably a Master degree in Public health nutrition or equivalent in Nutrition/Public Health.
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Typically, 5+ years of relative and progressive experience in Nutrition, including minimum 3 years in humanitarian emergency response setting or 5+ years of experience in nutrition related development field.
- Experience in facilitation of trainings and workshops
- Experience in budget management.
- Experience in writing / developing project proposals and project reports.
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
- Knowledge of international humanitarian law and principles.
- Proven experience in managing emergency nutrition programs including CMAM, IYCF, SBC in multiple locations
- Strong skills in technical proposal writing and donor reporting, designing and implementing nutrition programs
- Ability to provide technical support for IMC and partners staff on proper implementation of CMAM, IYCF, SBC and other nutrition activities.
- Familiarity with design and programming processes of different donors (ECHO, WFP, UNICEF, FCDO, BHA)
- Knowledge in designing and implementing appropriate and effective holistic nutrition programs including ensuring that the nutrition program is integrated with health, MHPSS, and WASH programming where appropriate.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret data and familiarity with nutrition surveys (Coverage, SMART and KAP surveys).
- Strong communication skills, able to effectively present information clearly and respond appropriately to technical questions from key stakeholders.
- Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office, and other computer applications.
- Willingness to travel within Syria and internationally as required.
- Knowledge of international humanitarian law and principles.
