Responsibilities
Objective 1: Effective management of the base’s MEAL team, with technical support from the MEAL Manager / MEAL Coordinator
- Supervise Monitoring, Accountability, Evaluation and Learning activities through monthly and weekly plans prepared.
- Ensure high quality MEAL outputs including reports, information sets, MEAL plans and updates are shared on time.
- Validate admin, HR, and log requests of staff in the team (leaves, transport requests, etc.).
- Support the team’s capacity building of the base’s MEAL team.
- Ensure the MEAL department’s key resources are allocated effectively and used efficiently in the base (plan, budget, etc.).
Objective 2: Work closely with the MEAL Manager and MEAL Coordinator to ensure the mission’s MEAL strategy and Vision are integrated and harmonized with other bases
- Regularly update the Coordinator on the MEAL framework’s implementation progress, problems, and opportunities.
- Support the continued development and adaptation of the MEAL tools to the context to ensure fit-for-purpose monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Support research activities.
Objective 3: Support the development of MEAL tools, methodologies, guidelines, and capacity building materials
- Ensure the base’s projects have functional and results-oriented M&E process.
- Regularly participate in field visits and information collection for MEAL activities.
- Train the team on new tools and support their continued capacity building.
- Support the MERL Coordinator and Feedback Assistant in training the base’s staff to raise awareness on humanitarian accountability.
- Support the Feedback Assistant in conducting field visits focused on stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in (social sciences, statistics, or development) or any other relevant field.
- Project cycle management Knowledge.
- Extensive experience in reporting and handling international donors' funding
- Excellent expertise in research, data gathering, and management encompassing both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- A vital requirement is a deep understanding of the Syrian context, particularly in the central and coastal areas, with specific knowledge of regions like Hama and Lattakia.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in the humanitarian sector as a Team Leader or in a similar capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and effectively presenting findings to various stakeholders such as implementation teams, field staff, and donors.
- Strong skills in team leadership, conflict resolution, consensus building, and adaptability are essential for this role.
- Excellent level in English.
- Very good level in Microsoft office, Power BI, KOBO/ODK.
- Experience with other data management, analysis, and visualization software is a plus.
- Experience with data/beneficiary management software such as ActivityInfo is a plus.

Salary and Benefits
Contract period: 6 months renewable base on Action Against Hunger fund and performance.
Salary/benefits: According to Action Against Hunger's salary scale and terms and conditions.
Duty station: Hama.
