Responsibilities
-Ensure proper integration for the new child within the home.
-Responsible for creating a safe and favorable group climate in which the child safety, emotional and healthy development are of primary concern.
-Undertake Assessments, including assessment of mental health needs, risk assessment and psychometric testing, and ensure close follow up of all children in all aspects (educations health psychological)
-Establish a collaborative working relation with caregivers to support the children well-being,
-Empower the caregivers to address the identified issues and make positive changes in child behavior,
-Responsible for meeting the health and personal hygiene needs of minors under their care, detect and refer any medical concerns to medical entity in coordination with the social worker.
-Provide caring, warm environment for the children through setting clear boundaries, supporting encouraging, and giving acknowledges for children for positive actions and decisions to help them build self-esteem, age-appropriate interpersonal skills, positive thinking, problem solving, proper language, respect for others, and appropriate behavior etc.
-Intervene in crisis situations as learned in therapeutic crisis, modelling appropriate behavior,
-Supervise the work project of the children.
-Supervision to care givers.
-Provide counselling for children and young people by leading group or individual.
-Support and guide all newly recruited caregivers during the integration period by ensuring regular visits to the candidate at home during the three-month probation period.
-Facilitate specialized training for all SOS parents based on the identified needs and monitor their Development in regular manner at least each three months.
-Ensure a regular assessment of the development plan of all SOS parents.
-Provide support to all SOS parents/ caregivers to address properly the individual child needs.
-Participate in monitoring the development and implementation of child work plan.
-Guide and support the children to engage them progressively in their child development plans.
-Become familiar with the background, philosophies, and clear with the principles, policies and structure of SOS children's villages.
-Coordinate and ensure proper referral system of any child or young people in need of psychiatric support or services.
-Participate in all meetings related to admission reunification and educational committees.
-Participate in meetings related to child safeguarding committee at program or national level if needed.
-Detect, prevent and protect the children under SOS care from all forms of physical or mental violence, injury, or abuse, neglect or negligent treatment, maltreatment or exploitation, including sexual abuse.
-Follow up on all Development work plan of all SOS parents.
-Follow up on all child files including all related reports.
-Prepare the annual and semi-annual reports to the SGH Coordinator.
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the direct upper.

Child Safeguarding (CS):
Child protection is everyone's responsibility.
Each child has the right to a safe environment.
Detect any concern or suspicion of abuse, neglect or any other form of negligent treatment.
prevent and protect children and young people from any forms of abuse, negligence, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child Protection Policy principles.
provide immediate protection service based on the identified need of safety in it area of work.
Responsible for reporting any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately.
Following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the respective line manager, or to the child safeguarding committee at programme level or to any other member of the national Child safeguarding team.

Qualifications
college degree in psychology; psychological counseling
At least 2 years of continuous work experience, including responsibility of projects, experience in education, leadership and facility administration.

Preferred additional criteria.
Any certificates, license, and training related to the field that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
A master's degree in a related field is preferred.
Preferable previous experience in the humanitarian sector.
A team player who is culturally astute, respectful and tolerant.
Ability to travel within the country.


Salary and Benefits
Salary: as per SOS salary scale.
6 months duration with the option of extension
