Responsibilities
The Nutritionist will work under the guidance of the AKF Project Coordinator and WFP nutrition team to provide critical technical, operational, and management support for the projects by Aga Khan Foundation in Syria and WFP. He/she will identify and train community health workers and/or lead caregivers to provide theoretical and practical trainings, in addition to the provision of MUAC tapes. The incumbent will report directly to the Project Coordinator.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical guidance on nutrition within EFN programming during the execution of project activities.
- Develop nutrition materials in accordance with the nutritional program cycle.
- Follow up on the quality of measurement and the referral process and finally make sure that treatment of identified cases is taking place.
- Facilitate cross-sectoral programming for effective nutrition integration.
- Assess and develop training needs and materials, and conduct community training sessions.
- Conduct situation analysis or assessments on nutrition issues related to EFN.
- Contribute to the development and establishment of program goals, objectives, strategies, and results-based planning.
- Provide technical and operational support throughout all stages of programming processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to discuss operational and implementation issues of the nutrition projects under the EFN.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, program reviews, and annual reviews.
- Monitor and report on the use of program resources.
- Draft communication and information materials for integrated nutrition and EFN program advocacy.
- Identify and report success stories and beneficiaries' stories.

Qualifications
- The applicant must have a university degree in Health Science, Nutrition or related field.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in relevant work.
- Technical training/ skills in Health Awareness.
- Strong collaboration, coordination, and communication skills.
- Familiar with of local community and demography.
- Good command of written and spoken English and computer skills.
- Good report writing skills.
- Male applicant should have finished their military service, exempted, or postponed for one year at least.
