Responsibilities
•Follow up with children exposed to child safeguarding incident, and those who are at risk of
exposure to child safeguarding incidents.
•Undertaking and witting assessment, sometimes with other professional, by conducting field
visits to the targeted child/adult and collect all the needed information.
•Undertaking the needed referrals to medical psychological treatment specialists for the
child/adult victim.
•Offering proper information and orientation and support.
•Recommend and support making proper decision about the best interest of a child and
family.
•Conducting interviews with the psychologist who follows up on the child's condition and
discussing the child current and past situation.
•View all the files related to children and the latest developments in the child's condition,
including (medical reports and the development of the psychological and educational
condition, legal files ....etc.).
•Participate in following up the individual child development from social perspective. And
ensure the right implementation of the support action plan proposed for the child/adult
under SFP 1.10 scope.
•Ensure proper follow up of the targeted children inside or outside SOS care, and undertake
all needed actions to implement and monitor the support action plan (socially - legally -
financially....etc.)
•Update the information concerning any changes in the status of the child/adult or biological
families.
•Carry out all duties in an exemplary manner.
•Protect the children under SOS care from all forms of physical or mental violence, injury, or
abuse, neglect or negligent treatment, maltreatment or exploitation, including sexual abuse
•Handle all SOS property appropriately, including the financial resources.


Child Safeguarding (CS)

•Child protection is everyone's responsibility.
•Each child has the right to learn.
•Ensure early detection of any abusive or inappropriate behavior and handle it in proper
way to minimize the child safety risks.
•Responsible within own area of work to prevent and protect children of all forms of abuse,
abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child Protection
Policy principles.
•Responsible for reporting any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately.
•Following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the
respective line manager or the local child safeguarding team, or to any other member of the
national CS team.




Qualifications
-University degree in education or social sciences, Sociology, Psychology, or any related field.
-Minimum 2 years’ experience in child and family development programmes or similar field
-Good knowledge of standards and current directions of development in the field of child’s rights approach, and social welfare systems
-Good knowledge of legal issues relating to social welfare + child rights.
-Field visit skills – skills of planning and organizing resources necessary for achievement of goals, development of assessments.
-High level of communication skills
-Ability to work in stressful condition
-Computer literacy (MS Office)
-Motivation for work focused on children and families.
-Ability to gather, analyze, evaluate and integrate important information


Specific Vacancy Requirements
-Any certificates, license, and training related to the field that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
-A master's degree in a related field is preferred
-Preferable previous experience in the humanitarian sector.
-A team player who is culturally astute, respectful and tolerant.
-Ability to travel within the country.


Salary and Benefits
Contract for Six Months with the option of extension.
6 Months contract with the option of extension
