II. Job Purpose and Organizational Context
Following intense bombardments in the last 2 years, once besieged Raqqa has seen a beginning of return of former residents, the renewal of some community infrastructure as well as the limited revival of economic activities and business. Raqqa UNDP’s office is targeting some reachable neighborhoods, especially in terms of infrastructure, business revival and social cohesion activities.
The photographer/videographer works in close collaboration with Raqqa Area Manager in Aleppo and in coordination with the Economic Development and Livelihoods Technical Officer in the Country Office to ensure proper documentation of UNDP activities as required.
Work in close cooperation with and report to the UNDP Communications Unit in the Country Office.
III. Duties and Responsibilities
1.Visit UNDP project sites and photograph project activities and beneficiaries as follows: people working on site, portrait shots, single beneficiaries, men, and women working together; new technologies acquired as result of project, people using technology, horizontal and vertical of same subjects, dramatic angles, close-ups, midrange, and wide-angle shots.
2.Photographer's work plan consists of a minimum of 15 field visits per month.
3.Visits outcomes will be a minimum of 15 photos per site. Minimum of one 2 min raw video.
4.Photographer will provide minimum of one 2 min produced and ready to publish video per month with English subtitles.
5.Photographer will provide caption information within the individual photo file including: names, age of beneficiaries, business, city, date, and description of activity.
6.Photos should be delivered in high resolution jpeg or raw files. Minimum of 300 dpi at 8 x 10 inches.
7.Photographer will provide edited and finished photos taken for UNDP within three working days of shooting. Images can be uploaded via Dropbox, OneDrive, Google drive, or any file sharing services to UNDP.
8.Photo credits will read: ©UNDP/Syria/Raqqa/” year photo taken”. UNDP can provide the image to other UN organizations or the media at no cost.
9.Photographer will be responsible for his own equipment and software.

Recruitment Qualifications
Education: High School education
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in producing photo/videos focusing on social, humanitarian, and development work
-experience in processing and editing photo, creating photo and photo stories 25%
-Experience in producing short format films. 25 %
Language Requirements: 20% Bilingual skills are preferred.
