To ensure that all related agreed upon and approved project activities and budget are mapped out and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
• Plan, implement and monitor the activities and budget in line with GAC proposal
• Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, internal and external coordination and control of the project.
• Cascade communications in a timely manner
• Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary
• Ensure compliance to donor requirements at all times
• Ensure that allocated budget is effectively utilised and is receipted with minimal variance.
• Prepare any follow-on Action Recommendations required.
• Support in the consolidation of the quarterly financial reports
• Write up of any required narrative/activity reporting
• Develop and enhance relationships with various stakeholders to undertake WASH projects within Syria
• Selection of activities in coordination/consultation with the WASH team; and in compliance to the donor’s requirements
• Assume other related tasks or responsibilities as maybe required by the project
People Management /Planning
• Ensure internal coordination mechanism is in place(regular staff meeting and reporting) and feedback is provided to programme managers in a timely way
• Support the team to achieve objectives through day-to-day support, monthly face to face meetings, regular team meetings, which include discussions of progress against objectives/implementation plan, giving feedback, challenges and encouragement.

• University Education in business administration, PMP or substantial experience of working with INGOs
• Experience of emergency and development work, and an understanding of relevant humanitarian and policy issue
• Experience in project management
• Good analytical and decision making skills
• Demonstrate relationship building skills and experience
• Ability to work under pressure
• High level of analytical and strategic planning skills
• Proven numeracy and financial management skills
• Proven influencing and negotiating skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Confident representation skills
• Self-motivated, target-driven
• Demonstrate understanding and experience of gender equity issues and their relevance to humanitarian response work
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively often in an insecure environment.
• Good written and spoken English and Arabic is essential
Desirable
• Experience of working within the middle eastern context;
• A very good working knowledge of French would be preferable
• Firm grasp on the Core Humanitarian Standards, NGO/Red Cross Code of Conduct, the People in Aid Code, SPHERE Minimum Standards, Oxfam International procedures and other regulatory codes/protocols.
