Responsibilities
II. Context
The crisis in Syria has entered its thirteenth year with little prospects for imminent end to violence that is faced on daily basis and impact the lives and exacerbate the vulnerability of children, women, the elderly, and the disabled.
In addition, the widespread displacement and deterioration of life conditions have negatively influenced the social and economic fabric of Syria.
As a response to the emerging needs of the Syrian population, and in line with the overall framework of the Syria Humanitarian Response Plan, Strategic Framework for Syria and UNDP Country Program Document, the project will build its activities based on local needs to enhance the infrastructure of Deir EzZor governorate.
Under the overall direction of Pillar 2 Associate and Technical project officer, the Project technician will be dedicated to this project delivery and quality of implementation.
The main responsibility is to ensure the successful achievement of all project activities by performing the following tasks:
III. Objectives of the Assignment
Under the overall direction of the Project Manager and the supervision of the CI Technical Officer. The project technician will be responsible for the day-to-day technical supervision, evaluation, and analysis of all project activities as required in accordance with the project document and the UNDP rules, conducting Assessments and Prepare Studies, reports to reflect the progress and raise the challenges and the alternative solutions in a timely manner.
IV. Scope of work (Indicate if this is Time-Based Contract or Output Based)
Ensure proper (day to day) follow up of works at the implantation area/site.
Monitor implementation of technically complex/sensitive works.
Prepare surveyed quantities and monitor the spending vs. total value of project assigned,
Ensure works quality (material specifications and implementation methods) are compatible with the specification book.
Update the timeline of the project based on the actual works progress on a weekly basis.
Prepare area statements and workshop record.
Communicate with beneficiaries, the local community, and any other relevant parties to identify their needs and achieve cooperation as per supervisor request.
Timely reporting on project progress, identifying challenges, and proposing alternative solutions. Achieving the expected results of the project and achieving the set objectives effectively and on time.
Dealing kindly and respectfully with beneficiaries and customers and working to achieve the highest level of satisfaction.
Compliance with any duties assigned by the main supervisor.
V. Final product/Deliverables (For Output Based Contracts, clearly indicate milestones and percentage of total lump sum that will be paid for completion of each milestone)
Weekly progress reports, including site diaries, photographs, and engineering drawings.
Quality control: including material test reports and inspection records.
Successful supervision of project timeline and quality.
Continuous engagement of the beneficiary and local community during the implementation process and share the regular updates with the stakeholder concerned.
Final report showing all the goals that have been achieved from a technical point of view in addition to the lessons learned to be reflected in the upcoming project.

-Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position
