Responsibilities
• Analyse, monitor, and follow up on the security, socio-economic, and cultural environment, and share information with the structure’s management.
• Collect and compile information about the projects and activities and contribute to their design.
• Represent the ICRC principles, mandate, mission, and activities to interlocutors and beneficiaries, and work in close collaboration and coordination with the SARC Branches.
• Develop and maintain contacts with authorities and other humanitarian organizations in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Participates in, and may carry out independently, administrative, and logistical tasks follow-up of field missions.
• Ensures that all departments have proper knowledge of security rules, guidelines, and procedures.
• Collects, compiles, translates/interprets information about the projects and contributes to written reporting from Arabic to English and vice versa.

Qualifications
• Intermediate Institute or University Degree.
• 2 - 3 years of experience in humanitarian field operations in national/international humanitarian organizations.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic languages.
• Computer Skills (Proficiency in MS Office).
• Good presentation and reporting skills.
• Experience in the field of safety and security is an asset.
• Willing to travel between governorates.

Purpose & Scope of Your Role:

The Generalist Field Officer contributes to the analysis of the safety and security situation of the assigned area of responsibility while coordinating, defining, implementing, and monitoring activities in coordination with the structure’s management, and representing the ICRC with other INGOs, authorities, and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).

About us
Permanently present in Syria since 1967, the ICRC is a neutral, impartial, and independent organization with an exclusively humanitarian mission.
