Responsibilities
The Fleet Technical Officer is responsible for achieving and following up on all maintenance and recovery activities for all AKF vehicles. This includes supporting planning, budgeting, and overseeing the fleet development to maintain a high degree of readiness in the most efficient plan. The incumbent will
report directly to the Operations Coordinator.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the vehicles' periodic preventive maintenance work at maintenance centers and workshops.
- Supervise the work of repair and maintenance: mechanical, electrical, blacksmithing and painting as well as evaluating the vehicle performance and its annexed equipment to determine that it functions at its optimum level.
- Prepare reports on the vehicles that are exposed to accidents, conduct an assessment of the material damage, and time required to repair, and follow-up the reform process with the responsible workshops and the insurance company.
- Follow up the relationship/contracts with the vehicle maintenance companies and workshops and prepare the list of the vetted/approved companies and workshops under the supervision of the Operations Coordinator.
- Maintain a list and contact with as much as possible emergency workshops and car service stations across AKF geographic target areas as part of the journey management plan.
- Follow up the daily and weekly vehicles and their tools inspection in addition to safety equipment.
- Follow-up process of vehicle fuel filling in terms of quantities and distances traveled.
- Oversee the warehouse of vehicles’ spare parts and related tools and accessories in terms of entries, outputs, organization, and inventory in compliance with the warehouse management policy and procedures.
- Study and set the required quantities of spare parts that ensure maximum readiness.
- Follow up the renewal process of all vehicles’ documents and fuel cards such as licenses, mandatory, comprehensive, and international insurance as well as the vehicles' passports and fuel smart cards.
- Report and achieve the necessary analysis for the maintenance, repair, and fuel.
- Prepare proposals and the annual budget plan for vehicles.
- Lead the development of the operating cost budget for vehicles and approach the planned timelines under the supervision of the Operations Coordinator.
- Provide technical reports of vehicles’ replacements and disposals.
- Provide weekly, monthly, and annual mechanical reports as well as any other related report when needed.
- Support vehicles distribution and selections among missions to simulate each trip purpose and requirement.
- Provide related support in preparing the travel plans and schedules.
- Assist in implementing the daily transportation plan as scheduled when required.
- This position carries the role of environment focal point at the Travel & Fleet Management Unit; Provide data about the greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions resulting from AKF Syria transportation and work continuously to reduce them in coordination with the AKF Environment Specialist.

Qualifications
- The applicant must have a University Degree / Technical specialty in Mechanical engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in the automotive field:
➢ Working in general management and management of Service Centres and workshops.
➢ Periodic maintenance work.
➢ Mechanic, electricity, blacksmithing and painting.
- Sufficient experience in warehouse management and car spare parts.
- Experience in dealing with the procedures of insurance companies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
- Creativity and ability to inspire others.
- High level of personal motivation, availability, ability to work under pressure, and response to emergency situations.
- High command of Computer and English skills (written and spoken).
- Male applicant should have finished their military service, exempted, or postponed for one year at least.
