Responsibilities
a)Strategy:
•Maintain contextual awareness of the areas of implementation including beneficiaries’ needs, market needs, risks, challenges, and opportunities
•Participate in developing and fine-tuning business development model/framework along with the project team.
•Develop in-depth knowledge about localized, best MSME practices and marketing services
b)Donors:
•Understand donor requirements and apply them within activity implementation, including communication with the team.
c)Workplans:
•Understand, and coordinate implementation per the agreed work plan/ implementation plan with the area coordinator.
•Develop and implement detailed activity work plans for the business mentors.
d)Reporting:
•Prepare and submit timely and period reports (monthly, quarterly), management reports, and other reports as needed.
e)Implementation:
•Guide, manage and advise the business mentors to help achieve results and objectives as per the project proposal
•Work with Caritas business mentors to provide support and services to the clients; in particular, facilitate business consultation sessions for MSMEs.
f)Monitoring:
•Ensure monitoring activities are understood, allocated, and followed up on by Business Mentors.
•Ensure the team is using monitoring tools.
•Produce or ensure the production of field monitoring reports.
•Amend implementation based on feedback elicited through monitoring and agreed changes with the area coordinator.
•Establish the client's feedback mechanisms and update the database
g)Targeting:
•Understand beneficiary selection criteria and targets in specific areas and by the donor, seek clarification from the area coordinator when not clear.
•Receive training on and disseminate training to Business Mentors on new tools.
•Ensure adherence to the SOPs.
h)Evaluation, learning and research:
•Ensure documentation is up to date and systematically organized to enable access by evaluators.
•Document lessons learned at project junctures.

i)Coordination & management:
•Regularly update area coordinator with support requirements at field level, activity progress/deviation.
•Coordinate relevant project issues with the Caritas Syria project team to ensure smooth implementation of the business development component within the given timeframe.

Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in economics, or business development.
-three years of relevant work experience of which at least one in a non-profit humanitarian organization
-Experience in program monitoring, coordination and information management.
-Staff/volunteer supervision experience.
-Ability to work simultaneously with multiple tasks and under time pressures in a fast-growing program environment.
-Excellent command of MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as well as data collection and data management platforms
-Willingness and ability to work efficiently with a diverse group of people.
-Experience in writing a high-quality progress report
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills & problem-solving skills.
-Fluent in Arabic - Working oral and written English.
