Responsibilities
• Implement health programs within the area of responsibility/expertise.
• Analyse and supervise the overall health situation in her/his area of responsibility.
• Participate in crafting operational strategies at the country level and planning for health interventions with the local authorities and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).
• Analyse data and information collection during monitoring in order to evaluate the quality of intervention, output/outcomes, accountability to beneficiaries, and ensure accurate information management.
• Establish and maintain communication channels with partners and interlocutors related to the implementation of the ICRC Health programs and keep them informed of the implementation of the activities.
• Organize meetings, advise on cultural, political, economic, and security matters, liaise and build networks with local stakeholders to
ensure efficient implementation of health programs.
• Ensure field presence in the concerned governorates; Damascus & Rural Damascus, Southern Syria, Hama, Homs, Lattakia, Tartous, and Deir Ezzor when needed and per AoR management directions.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in medicine or nursing.
• Good command (spoken and written) of the English & Arabic languages.
• 3 to 5 years of total work experience (including 2 years of clinical experience).
• Previous experience in the humanitarian health sector with an excellent knowledge of the assigned geographical area.
• Very good reporting & negotiation skills with the flexibility to travel to other governorates is an asset.

Purpose & Scope of Your Role:

The ‘Health Field Officer’ contributes to implementing, running, and monitoring the health programs in cooperation with the health team, for the areas of Damascus & rural Damascus, Southern Syria, Homs, Hama, Lattakia, Tartous, and Deir Ezzor governorates.
