Responsibilities
Update and Maintain the Communications Strategy Annually
•In coordination with the Head of Mission and the Communication department at HQ, update SIF Syria Mission’s Communications Strategy on an annual basis.
Develop and Implement a Communication and Visibility Plan
•Facilitate better understanding among partners, donors, beneficiaries, host communities, media, the general public, and government stakeholders of SIF’s work in Syria.
•Ensure all SIF and donor visibility requirements and communications commitments are met.
Create and Manage High-Quality Communication Products
•Identify and work with external contractors, such as photographers, videographers, and other communication professionals, to meet the goal, objectives, and performance metrics of the program.
•Collect and produce human interest stories, case studies, photos, and videos about SIF interventions in Syria.
•Undertake field visits to produce creative and engaging communications products to raise awareness of the crisis and SIF’s humanitarian response efforts.
•Prepare internal and external reporting and communication pieces (success stories, case studies, project newsletters brochure, and other publicity material.), ensuring high-quality, well-written, and timely reports
•Have strong knowledge of relevant thematic areas for content development and designing social media campaigns for the organization.
Ensure Compliance with Consent and Visibility Requirements
•Ensure all public multimedia materials have the necessary consent forms on file.
•Manage all reporting deadlines related to communication and media, develop calendars for report development, and coordinate report compilation and review.
Enhance Staff Capabilities in Communications and Visibility
•Provide training on communications and visibility to SIF Syria Mission staff to improve their contributions to communications initiatives and understanding of SIF and donor guidelines.
•Advise SIF Syria Mission staff on media, public information, awareness-raising, and visibility issues in line with SIF and donor guidelines, protection principles, and ethical standards.
•Provide advice to the staff on public relations techniques impacting program activities including, but not limited to, potential problems and opportunities in the various communities served.
Manage Framework Agreements and Logistical Arrangements for Visibility
•In coordination with the procurement department, maintain and update framework agreements related to visibility products.
•Follow up on administrative and logistical arrangements related to visibility materials, events, workshops, and publications.
Facilitate Effective Communication with Headquarters
•In coordination with the Head of Mission, liaise with SIF headquarters communications focal points as required.

Qualifications
-At least 2 years of professional experience working in communication or related field such as media/public relations
-Bachelor’s degree in the area of social sciences, public relations, communications, International Development, Graphic Designing, or any other relevant field of study.
-Previous working experience with NGOs/INGOs/UN Agencies.
-Strong practical background in graphic design, including the knowledge of design software such as Adobe Design, Photoshop, Illustrator.
-Knowledge of standard software packages (MS Office - Adobe Acrobat)
-Familiarity with all aspects of data management including designing of data collection instruments; maintaining project databases
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation, and coaching.
-Builds and maintains effective relationships, with their team, colleagues, and external partners.
-Values diversity as a source of competitive strength.
-Approachable, good listener, easy to talk to.
-Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner.
-Develops and encourages new and innovative solutions.
-Fluency in English, Arabic, both verbal and written
