Responsibilities
1. Field work will be implemented in Damascus, Rural Damascus, Sweida, Dar’a and Quneitra.
2. Monitor the progress and quality of UNICEF-supported programmes and monitor and report the gaps and unmet needs of vulnerable children and women.
3. Assess the appropriateness of UNICEF interventions to the needs of the affected population, including regularly seeking and recording beneficiary satisfaction and feedback information.
4. Report on specific issues/difficulties with regard to the UNICEF-supported programmes including the effectiveness of the approach from the view of the end-user and issues and difficulty faced particularly by children and women.
5. As required, monitor the delivery of supplies to end-users (i.e. tracking of UNICEF supplies from supply providers to the end user, identifying any delays, bottle necks and undelivered supplies) and/or assessing perceived satisfaction by end-users.
6. Identify and report key emerging issues from the field, such as newly arising emergency situations and/or socio-economic issues affecting children and young people, girls and women in particular, including disease outbreaks, malnutrition, protection concerns, etc.
7. Undertake related but special assignments required by the UNICEF management with regard to quick assessments and/or in-depth analysis of specific cases.
8. Develop and implement monitoring plans that outline the scope, objectives, and methodologies for evaluations specific to UNICEF initiatives.

d. Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze diverse and complex information from a wide range of sources to make analytical statements to inform decision-making.
e. Very good report writing skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
f. Capacity to work in an emergency context under stressful conditions and strict deadlines.
g. Problem-solving skills.
h. High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to impartiality and objectivity.
i. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
j. The position may involve working with sensitive and confidential information, requiring discretion and professionalism.


Specific Vacancy Requirements
1. At least four years of relevant experience is required in monitoring and reporting, and collecting and compiling quantitative and qualitative data. (Experience in project/programme management is preferable)
2. Experience working in a humanitarian context.
3. Experience working with UN or NGO programmes /projects will be an asset.
4. Experience working with UNICEF projects will be an asset.
5. Proven experience in compliance monitoring, auditing, or a related field.
