Responsibilities
The Protection Officer will be working under the direct supervision of the Community Services Coordinator. He/she will be responsible for following up on matters related to the Protection projects and programmes, assist the Community Services Coordinator to set up the plan and the overall framework of the Protection activities, supervise the work of the Protection field staff; provide guidance and technical support; coordinate the preparation of all related reports:
With support and guidance from the Community Services Unit coordinator is responsible for the following tasks:
• Assist the Community Services Coordinator to further improve the logical framework for each project.
• With the inputs from the field staff identify, map, and keep updated the governmental, directorate, social and non-governmental services available in the area of operations at district level, including establishing connection and liaison with them
• With the inputs from the field staff develop and operationalize referral pathway with the humanitarian and state actors in line with international humanitarian principles and make sure the referral mechanism works smoothly in grovernorate.
• Ensure the collaboration and participation of SIF in activities related with protection at the local level.
• Report weekly, monthly and progress report as needed.
• Supervise and guide the field staff on tools to improve the implementation of protection activities in the field.
• Supervise and cerate tools for an effective remote management.
• Assist the Community Services Coordinator in preparing other relevant reports.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports.

• Participate in developing the planning of future projects in light of the lessons learnt from previous ones to ensure success of the planned projects
• Accompanied by the Community Services coordinator regularly does visits to the field and give recommendation under supervision.
• Share concerns from the team in the field and data to the Community Services coordinator.
• Perform other duties as required.




Qualifications
• At least 3 years of management experience in an NGO environment, preferably in education and protection in emergencies.
• Bachelor’s degree in social studies or psychology or Sociology or related field.
• Proven track record in delivering quality programmes to deadlines, including finance.
• Ability to follow up on a range of projects and tasks simultaneously, to analyse information, evaluate options, define priorities and to plan strategically.
• Knowledge of international humanitarian systems, institutions and donors, and of procedures, accountability frameworks and best practices in emergency management.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Very good computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-point.
