Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
The Animator is responsible for the preparation, delivery and monitoring of psycho-social, non-formal education, sport, cultural and recreational activities with children and youth supported by Terre des hommes.
The Animator promotes and ensures the principles of child protection and child participation are respected within the Tdh projects and with identified child protection and child empowerment resources.

Specific Responsibilities / Context (Tasks):
1- Organises psychosocial, non-formal education, sport, cultural and recreational activities for target children and youth according to the context and strategy of Tdh (small groups or large groups).
2- Defines the activities to be implemented according to the children's age and situation.
3- Involves and communicates to parents as needed.
4- Promote, ensure and set children as a central actor in the activities.
5- Identifies within the activities the children that need further assistance.
6- Assists in the coordination and delivery of child-friendly events and activities.
7- Organises joint events for children from various communities for child integration and harmonisation.
8- Links the child, their family and community with child protection resources and networks of support.
9- Ensure and a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the Locations.
10- Organises activities catering to the needs of children of different ages, genders, and abilities.
11- Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected.
12- Ensure that all games and equipment are accounted for and stored securely at the end of the day.
13- Screen for and monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the Child Friendly Space.
14- Identify the CP incidents if any and inform and immediately report it to Child Protection team leader.
15- Monitors the results of their activities and reports them to their supervisor and the MEAL team
16- Responsible for the safety of children under their supervision.
17- Acts in the best interest of the child.
18- Updating the services Mapping in the location.
19- Identifying the CP risks and doing the referral in the safe referral pathway.
20- Any other tasks delegated by their supervisor related to their role in the team.


Qualifications
Education / Qualifications:
University degree in social sciences represents a strong advantage.

Experience:
- Good skills in working with children, preferably at least one year of experience.
- Experience in working with vulnerable groups represents a strong advantage.
- Ability to observe well and to identify more withdrawn children who do not make friends and to involve them in activities.
- Capacity to ability to carry out interactive activities with children of all ages.
- Experience working in psychosocial support activities with children.
Ability to advise others Capacity to establish relations with a range of ages for children and youth.
- Communication skills and learning availability
Enthusiasm, energy.

Language:
Arabic Speaker and have some English skills.


Specific Vacancy Requirements
This role requires a mastery of Personal, Social and Leadership Competencies (PSLC), Technical and Methodological Competencies (TMC) and Management and Strategic Competencies (MSC):
