Responsibilities
Background:
. KAMEH - Knowledge Agriculture Mutuality Exchange for Hope in Syria Project aims to support farmers in increasing resilience of vulnerable rural communities affected by protracted crisis, food insecurity and climate change. As part of this Project, there is need to conduct comprehensive Leadership training to empower resource farmers with essential knowledge and skills. This ToR is designed to outline requirements for qualified outsourced trainer/training agencies that will deliver training to resource farmers.
Objectives:
Primary objective of the training is to enhance leadership capacity of resource farmers who will be tasked to facilitate Farmer Field Schools (FFS) on their farms and to disseminate and demonstrate innovative farming practices to their peers through collectives. In addition, they will serve as a liaison between local village communities, farmers and Project Staff and should contribute to social cohesion within communities by taking the role of mediators.
Scope of Work:
The trainer is expected to perform the following:
-Develop a comprehensive training curriculum and materials on leadership skills for resource farmers. The curriculum should include theoretical content, practical exercises, case studies and interactive learning methods.
-Provide resource farmers with methods of leading the group during FFS sessions (considering methods and tips for time management, group dynamics and ice breaking among participants)
-Provide resource farmers with best methods to catch technical ideas and technical recommendations and directions as planned in FFS sessions in addition to providing them with main tools needed i.e., drawing, photos, videos ...etc.
-Leading resource farmers to become facilitators of farmer field schools (FFS).
-Make evaluation for Trainees based on written and verbal tests.
-Support Project Team on pre-selection for best candidate to become resource farmers.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
Trainer should possess the following qualifications and skills:
-Relevant educational background or certifications in business development, training, or a related field.
-Extensive experience in delivering Leadership training, business development, entrepreneurship and life skills training, preferably in a similar context (agricultural interventions) or with vulnerable populations.
-Strong facilitation and training skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse groups of learners.
-Knowledge of adult learning principles and interactive training methodologies.
-Familiarity with Syrian context and sensitivity to cultural nuances and challenges faced by recipients.
-Basic knowledge about rural communities and basic understanding of the context and structure of farmers and breeders communities.
-Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
Deliverables:
Trainer is expected to deliver the following:
-Training curriculum and materials tailored to specific requirements of the Project.
-Training report, including an overview of training conducted, feedback received, evaluation of trainees and recommendations for improvement.
Timeframe:
Leadership training will take place during last week of September 2023 (25th till 28th), in Tartous for 2 groups/2 days per group, for about 40 resource farmers in addition to 10 from field staff. Trainer should propose detailed timeline and schedule of activities in their application.
