Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and overall supervision of the AVSI programme in the area in a successful, timely and high - quality manner, following project plans and agreements;
Ensuring programme implementation through results-based management;
Ensures good coordination and communication amongst the team members, partners, volunteers, community leaders and other local stakeholders implementing different activities;
Responsible for defining and implementing realistic and consistent work plans established in consultation with the programme team;
Responsible for planning, supervising, collecting information and reporting distribution of materials on the field;
Responsible for planning, developing and collecting pre-post information for local trainings, workshops and events and adequate reporting them;
Responsible for supervising and reporting results of local works and services on the field according to projects/agreements signed;
Participating actively to the selection of beneficiaries together with the main partners, assuring the respect of selection criteria;
Responsible for the proper monitoring and achievement of AVSI programme results and objectives and participating actively for monitoring and evaluation visits;
Responsible for ensuring that donor's requirements are met during the programme execution;
Responsible for drafting periodically (or under request) good quality programme reports;
Communicating and coordinating with its counterparts Project Managers (PM) and/or Programme Manager (PrM)
Liaising with partners and humanitarian actors (including local institutions) involved in the programme, encouraging their involvement, building their capacity, ensuring sharing of information and transparency;
Ensuring crosscutting issues (gender, protection, HIV/Aids and accountability) are incorporated into programme design implementation;
Accompany external consultants and HQ and local office head office staff in their visits on the field and to the projects;
Actively participating in AVSI meetings, events and local UN clusters;
Attracting, motivating and retaining project volunteers on the field, valuing individual and team capabilities, creating a good field work environment;
Ensuring a field healthy and safe working environment;
Ensuring staff safety, security and evacuation (medical/security) procedures are drawn up, implemented, revised and updated;
Any other duties assigned by the management.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience, relevant to the above described job, in public or private sector, better with no-profit associations;
Proven experience of Field Management
University degree in Economic, Management, Agriculture, Education or any other related discipline;
Excellent knowledge of Arabic and very good knowledge of English written and spoken;
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package;
Good knowledge of the area of work (East Ghouta and Rural Damascus);
Strong knowledge and ability to apply Core Humanitarian Standards;
Commitment to AVSI’s procedures, standards, child protection policy, vision and mission;
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in results-based project management or program management and team (even volunteers) management;
Ability to engage in a dialogue and to bring together local actors and work with them;
Proven numeracy and financial management skills;
Adaptable and flexible;
High level of self-awareness, and excellent stress and self-management;
Experience in security and safety management in difficult areas;
Excellent team spirit and ability to establish good work relations;
Problems solving
Good management, communication and reporting skills are required;
Good skills in photographing.
Knowledge of OCHA, Italian Cooperation, WFP procedures is considered an asset.
