Responsibilities
1. Support in collecting data as per the MEAL Unit requirements for its different activities.
2. Seek out respondents who fit the suggested profiles in assigned locations and collect data based on different data collection tools Provided by the MEAL unit.
3. Gather and accurately record responses on webforms provided by the MEAL team.
4. Ensure that questionnaires have been thoroughly checked and completed.
5. Submit completed questionnaires and other equipment used in fieldwork to MEAL unit, and will, if required to do so, compile his/her findings in a format required by the MEAL unit.
6. As part of each assignment, participate in briefings, carry out data collection, and/or reporting.
7. Recognize and give account of problems in obtaining data and provide useful feedback from field data collection activities.
8. Work according to the needs and on a project-by-project basis.


Qualifications
1. Bachelors ’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Statistics or other related field.
2. Knowledge of Mobile data collection tools i.e. Survey CTO or Mobenzi.
3. Experience in data collection, administering questionnaires and conducting interviews and data collection.
4. Willingness to learn and explore new experiences.
5. Proven knowledge of computerized systems; high degree of computer literacy and word processing.
6. Fluency in speaking and understanding English & Arabic.

Cultural Awareness: Must be aware of and sensitive to the cultural expectations of communities in Syria.

Accuracy: Must be able to interpret and record responses appropriately without distorting the respondent’s meaning or confusing the reader.

Endurance: Must be able to work for full day working hours in the field across a number of days.
