Responsibilities
-Transport:
•Coordinate with the Logistic Officer the daily movement schedule to cover the needs of the mission
•Collect information about the destination before leaving and make sure that equipment, tools and fuel required according to the situation is on board
•Estimate departure time accordingly with destination
•Transport persons and goods following the defined plan
•Remain in standby at base level if no car movement is needed
•Remain in or near the car in case of waiting and monitor his communication means
•Ensure the proper and safe parking of the vehicle during the breaks and at the moment of ending the shift
•Ensure to have the logbook completed after each movement
•Perform other tasks like making simple purchases, delivering mails, getting documents etc when required
-Maintenance:
•Performs daily check of the vehicle (i.e. oil level, water level, tyre pressure, etc.) at the beginning of the shift
•Inform immediately the Logistic Officer of any mechanical problem with the vehicle
•Responsible for the proper consumption of the fuel in the vehicle
•Refuel the vehicle whenever necessary
•Coordinate with the Logistic Officer for the regular maintenance of the vehicle, and ensure it is kept clean and in good running condition at all times
•Correctly fill in the logbook and any other document related to the car maintenance and the fuel consumption of it on real time
-Security:
•Be aware of the security situation in the area
•Ensure all relevant documentation in accordance to the Syrian law are included inside the vehicle and are valid (i.e. insurance certificate, driver’s licence, ownership of the vehicle, etc.), and report to the Logistic Officer before it expires
•Ensure a first aid kit, one spare tyre and a tool box are inside the vehicle and in good state before starting the shift
•Ensure that passengers at the front and at the back use the seatbelts
•Adjust the vehicle speed to the road conditions and drive with consideration for the safety of the passengers, other road users, the load and the technical state of the car
•Inform immediately the Logistic Officer in case of any road accident involving the organization’s vehicle, and ensure that the necessary steps are followed, based on TGH rules and regulations.
•Control loading and unloading of the vehicle considering the maximum loading capacity, proper distribution and securing of the road
The responsibilities and tasks described above are not exhaustive; additional tasks could be requested by the line manager.

Qualifications
Experience: minimum 3 years
Language: Basic English skills
Technical skills: Driving licence, basic mechanical skills, familiar with Hamah city and around

Established in 1994 TGH is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) designing and implementing emergency, rehabilitation and development programs. Its action includes several areas of expertise within a comprehensive approach: the programs fall within the fields of Education; Water Hygiene & Sanitation; Food Security, Livelihood & Rural Development. In 2018, TGH operates in 10 countries and manages 70 programs.
TGH has been registered in Syria in May 2017 and works under the coordination of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC). Both Organisations have agreed to cooperate in order to enhance their common objective of offering humanitarian aid to the Syrian affected people that need help wherever it is possible in the country. The main TGH sectors of activities in Syria are WASH and Education.
A preliminary assessment in the WASH sector has been carried-out by TGH from 18th July to 27th July 2017 under the coordination and with the support of SARC. Another one has been conducted by TGH team and SARC in Hama in October 2018.
Since then, TGH signed 2 WASH projects in Hama under SHF and Rural Damascus under CDCS, and is planning to submit project proposal to various donors in 2019.
