Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Efficiently produce shop, assembly, and erection drawings
* Manage multiple projects at once and successfully maintain communications with Project Managers
* Submit Requests for Information to customers
* Accurately check drawings produced by self and peers
* Prepare calculations for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects based on drawings
* Analyze, design, and select appropriate steel member connections for each project
* Submit completed structural analyses to Professional Engineer
* Comply with all codes and regulations throughout each project
* Provide final checks of drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents and Industrial standards

* Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar education
* 0-3 years of experience performing calculations
* Experience with AutoCAD and Tekla is a must
* Must have knowledge of structural steel and miscellaneous metals
* Must have knowledge of current building codes and regulations
* Must be able to read and interpret drawings and contract specifications
* Must possess computer skills and knowledge of computer equipment
* Must have a good command of the English language (both written and spoken)
* Must possess leadership and communication skills
* Must possess strong organizational and planning skills
* Must have analytical and problem solving skills

We are seeking a Steel Designer to assist in the engineering, designing and drafting aspects of steel fabrication for high-quality, economically competitive products. This position will focus on creating three dimensional drawings, preparing engineered calculations, assisting in providing checks to ensure compliance with contract documents and maintaining communications with Project Managers
