Responsibilities
Generic responsibilities
• Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with Education strategy, tools, handbooks, guidelines and standards.
• Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and planned activities.
• Ensures the monitoring and quality control of the assigned project activities or activities conducted by assigned partners.
• Prepares and develops status reports as required by management.
• Ensure proper filing of project documents.
• Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist. Promote the rights of beneficiaries in line with the advocacy strategy
• Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options.
• In collaboration with other team members, ensure clear information about the programme is available for local communities and partners and facilitate a positive, productive, and professional communication with stakeholders.
• Participate in preparation and facilitation of training workshops for NRC staff on children and youth education.
Specific Responsibilities
• Is responsible, in consultation with the team leader, for the final design/contextualization of the non-formal children education, in line with NRC's strategy and minimum quality standards.
• Is responsible for planning (time, locations, resources, targets), and coordinating the implementation of the non-formal children education programme in the selected locations and in line with NRC's quality standards.
• Manage the Non-Formal Children Education Team in implementing the non-formal education programme and supports them to further build their capacity and expertize.
• Is responsible for developing and or revising training and learning, recreational, PSS materials and tools for non-formal education activities for children, in English and Arabic, and organizing and facilitating trainings/trainings of trainers/workshops.
• Contribute to the development of the outreach strategy, and is responsible for the identification of key resources for the implementation/facilitation of the non-formal children education programme in the supported communities (e.g. community mobilizers, community focal points.). Establishes and maintains effective collaborative relationships with the local communities.
• Assesse and decides, in consultation with the Team Leader, the beneficiary identification and selection methods for the children non-formal education programme and ensures, together with the Education Assistants coordinated, that a fair process is conducted in all assisted communities.
• Contribute to need assessments in current or new operation and informs decisions on programme response and approach, based on own capacity and knowledge.
• Ensure the monitoring, quality check, and evaluation of all non-formal education activities for children - including the design of monitoring and evaluation methodology and tools, data collection, spot visits, data analysis, and writing of regular activity implementation/monitoring/evaluation reports.
• Contribute to identifying and/or strengthening collaboration and dialogue between NRC and relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to building synergies with other components of the education programme
• Is responsible for ensuring that the Children Non-Fomal Education team prepares all administrative, logistical, and financial arrangements and documentation regarding the non-formal children education programme as per NRC standards.
• Can be deployed temporarily to other field locations for initial assessments, the delivery of education assistance in emergency, initiation/ planning/ coordination/ implementation/ monitoring/ evaluation of non-formal children/youth education activities, recruitment of education staff (permanent and/or mobile) and/or capacity building. Can be re-allocated temporarily to other positions or requested to support other education activities that require a similar expertise, as per the education programme priorities.


Qualifications
Generic professional competencies:
• Minimum Bachelor Degree.
• Previous experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context, preferably as a project officer.
• Previous experience from working in a complex and volatile context
• Previous relevant experience of minimum 3 years from working in education for children and/or youth (planning, implementing/overseeing the implementation and reporting education activities/projects)
• Experience in coordinating teams.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience
• Minimum Bachelor Degree, in education, social work, or any relevant field.
• Experience in designing/adapting learning/recreational/PSS materials/programmes for activities with children.
• Experience in facilitating activities with children or trainings for trainers (ToT) related to education/learning/recreational activities/ programmes for children and youth (minimum 3 years)
• Knowledge in pedagogy, didactic, child development and evaluation of learning
• Experience in community mobilization, outreach, and successful liaison with key stakeholders (e.g. communities, schools, etc.)

NRC was established in 1946 under the name Aid to Europe, to assist refugees in Europe after World War II.
