Responsibilities
Data Collection & Data Entry:

- Developing and updating ODK forms to ensure high quality data collection.
- Keeping ODK training material up to date.
- Providing practical training for data enumerators and supervisors in collaboration with programme team.
- Develop organizational capacity for multimedia and information alerting usage.
- Engage in M&E visits as necessary.

Data Protection and Data Management:

- Be responsible for data accuracy and data cleaning.
- Implementing beneficiary data protection protocols.
- Assist in management of Medair's archiving system on BOX.

Computer Programming & Tech Development:

- Developing technical capacity with new tools and assisting others in the team to follow.
- Test, evaluate, and implement new technologies as necessary.
- Assist with IT maintenance in Damascus office.

Data Analysis, Visualization, and M&E Reporting:

- Analyse data to produce relevant indicators.
- Responsible for monitoring and evaluation reporting.
- Using GIS, QLIK and other relevant software to produce information visuals (including mapping).
- Produce automated Qlik Sense reports.
- Contribute information visuals to internal and external reporting.

Communications:

- Assist line manager in compiling relevant stories and communication reports for donors and other stakeholders.

Communication & Training:

- Translating programme data from Arabic to English or English to Arabic.

Quality Management:

- Follow appropriate IM standards and integrate lessons learned into the projects.
- Participate in monitoring & evaluation and ensuring adherence to Programme indicator.


Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject or equivalent professional / technical qualification.
- Relevant professional experience working with information management using large and complex data sets (1 year).
- Experience using data for reporting purposes.
- Experience in computer programming.
- Experience in use of tablets &smartphones and associated software.
- Good English (spoken and written).
- Excellent Arabic (spoken and written).
- Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

- University degree in Computer Programming, Database Management, Systems & Computing.
- ≥ 1 year previous NGO experience.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, ArcGIS, QGIS and ODK technology.
- Experience with data analysis packages (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau Qlik).
- Experience of IT troubleshooting.
- Experience using ODK.
- Advanced computer programming skills.
- Advanced data management (i.e., SQL, Qlik, etc.).

The successful candidate must be legally allowed to Work in Syria, need to be holder of fully valid passport for travel to Lebanon/Jordan for training.

This is a position based in Damascus with frequent field visits within Rural Damascus and Homs, and occasionally to Aleppo or Deir-ez-Zor (subject to staff safety procedures and movement approvals).

Working week is usually 5 days per week, Sunday to Thursday 8:30 to 16:30.

This position requires flexibility at times. Travel outside of Damascus will be required on a periodic basis. Travel may also be required to Lebanon/Jordan for training or meetings.

Salary and Benefits
We offer an interesting job with Medair and competitive remuneration. We will offer the successful applicant a 12 months contract inclusive of 3 months' probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.

Candidate should be willing and able to work in Damascus and undertake field visits to other governorates (subject to movement approval).

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Medair Terms of Employment for National staff hired at similar positions.
