Responsibilities
Setting up child protection process and procedures:
- Conduct a status quo analysis of SOS Children's Villages Syria, including a situation Analysis, existing material and capacities, risk assessment, etc;
- External mapping in Syria: identify key country-level contacts, national child protection legislation, existing national protection systems if any, with whom to work/network, potential resources for local advice and possible victim response
- Develop a national action plan based on status quo analysis together with relevant co-workers (Director of Program, National Director, CVI Program Director), including a training strategy to support child protection implementation in line with Implementation Guideof SOS Children s Villages International
- Facilitate the development of safeguarding and child protection policies, training and procedures and guidance in SOS Children s Villages Programs.
- To define local reporting procedures for responding effectively and appropriately to any child
- To develop and implement a regular national monitoring system and document advances and difficulties
- To provide training to staff and other stakeholders (parents, care-givers etc..) and develop a range of other activities that will support knowledge, practice and skills development ON Child Protection Policy and any other guidelines or policies related to child protection
- Monitor and review the implementation of the relevant guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure they are adhered to, remain current and fit for purpose.
- Contribute to the organization of advocacy campaigns in relation to child protection and being able to represent SOS Syria regarding child protection events.
- Ensure that Child Protection is part of the national and local planning

Support in reporting and responding procedures:
- To act as a central point to collect reports, referrals, information on concern, storing the documentations secure and confidential, and arranging action and reviewing services for children and families.
- To ensure that children who are victims of abuse are supported effectively and appropriately and that all actions assigned, from reporting to responding are successfully carried out and monitored.

Networking and maintaining strong child protection culture:
- Ongoing training and child protection activities in order to maintain awareness and meet specific training needs (e.g. child protection in various SOS locations and projects like emergency relief, etc.)
- Acting as a first point of contact for SOS Children s Villages Syria on issues of Child Protection for both internally, and for members of the public and other external contacts
- Promoting of best safeguarding practices across the wider partnership network.
- Represent SOS Children s Villages Syria in the Child Protection networks if any
- Liaise with partners and government authorities to plan and organize training program. Identify training needs and objectives for the purpose of capacity building, program sustainability as well advocacy.



Qualifications
- Speaking at least two languages: English and Arabic
- University degree in Psycho social or a relevant discipline
- 3 years of experience at least in the field of education
- Experience in working with children & youth
