• Oversee and supervise two to three teams of qualitative field researchers and note-takers.
• Coordinate the translation of qualitative guidelines and research materials into Arabic or English.
• Assist in training field researchers for the qualitative component of research studies.
• Provide inputs into the development, piloting and finalisation of assessment instruments.
• Design a field work plan and supervise the field work.
• Conduct key informant discussions, semi-structured interviews or facilitate focus group discussions
• Oversee and ensure the quality of the qualitative data collected by the field research team.
• Oversee and conduct analysis of the qualitative data collected.
• Lead on writing the draft qualitative report on the basis of the analysis.
• Assist the AKF Syria Monitoring and Evaluation staff with any additional field work.

• The applicant must have a Master or University Degree in Economics, Sociology or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in conducting qualitative research and analysing qualitative data.
• Familiarity with participatory research and sentinel methodology is an advantage.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and good knowledge of Salamieh District and local context.
• Male applicants should have finished their military service, exempted or postponed for at least one year.
