• Identify opportunities for improving farmer and beneficiaries’ livelihoods and for mitigating the impact of the crisis on livelihood assets.
• Assist the Livelihoods Manager in leading the programme team whether staff, consultants or volunteers in both substantive and operational issues ensuring optimization of human and financial resources with highest performance standards.
• Undertake day-to-day overseeing for the agricultural, economic and rural development projects, including effective programme implementation and documents progress towards the achievement of outputs.
• Assist the Livelihoods Manager in preparing livelihoods strategy, designing work plans, and producing timely progress reports as requested by AKF (Syria) and donor reporting systems.
• Liaise with government bodies, local authorities, research institutes, partner organizations and NGOs to ensure optimal implementation for the activities.
• Ensure proper coordination of the programme implementation among implementing partners and with government ministries and administrations.
• Ensure that programme assessments are undertaken and that relevant data and information are collected so programme monitoring and evaluation can take place.
• Ensure that gender is integrated and mainstreamed throughout the programme outputs.
• Ensure the participation of relevant stakeholders in programme implementation.
• Prepare grant proposals and reports, as well as ensure the generation of regular and ad hoc reports of grants for internal and external purposes.
• Contribute towards the analysis of general economic conditions.

• The applicant must have an advanced university degree in either Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Economics or other related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the development or implementation of programmes/projects in the field of livelihoods development, gender analysis, community development, urban and rural small business development and agriculture and livestock.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in difficult surroundings.
• Strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Male applicant should have finished their military service, exempted or postponed for one year at least.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the development or implementation of programmes/projects in the field of livelihoods development, gender analysis, community development, urban and rural small business development and agriculture and livestock.
