Responsibilities
The Senior Agronomist will be the project manager for a 10 months project in Rural Damascus.
S/he will be in charge of the management of the project, procurements and financial supervision with the help of the Financial department.
S/he will be in charge of preparing monthly analysis of the agricultural situation of Rural Damascus.
S/he will be in charge of preparing monthly analysis of the situation of gardening kits and egg-laying hens for vulnerable families in Rural Damascus
S/he will develop training materials for gardening kits and egg-laying hens family production.
S/he will be in charge of the training of vulnerable families in agricultural and livestock production.

Qualifications
Five years degree in Agronomy or any related field
Good knowledge in Syria food security and livelihood situation.
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in large organizations/companies.
Excellent English and Arabic language skills both written and spoken are essential.
Very strong analysis skills and an extensive practical experience working with Syrian and international companies.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of relevant project management and/or technical advisory experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.
A keen understanding of emergency Food Security response.
A strategic thinker, who can identify, plan and oversee the implementation of key project activities.
Technical experience in one or more of the following areas is also highly desirable: Food & agricultural assessments, analysis and implementation;
Gender and Youth sensitive programme planning;
Vegetable production, mechanized agriculture and small and medium scale farming systems; Agricultural value chains & business development;
Extension and advisory systems/structures;
Partnership development
A keen understanding of emergency Food Security response.
