Responsibilities
 Assess the overall agricultural situation in Syria, identify gaps and propose necessary actions.
 Participate in planning, implementation and monitoring of the ICRC agro/livelihood program.
 Develop guidelines and support ICRC offices in carrying out agro assessment and development of agro projects/proposals.
 Prepare actions plans and provide guidance on agro/livelihood program to the EcoSec teams.
 Coordinate with other actors involved in agro/livelihood sector.
 Work in close coordination with SARC and Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
 Support in assessing the humanitarian situation and needs, particularly in the field of economic security, emergencies, agriculture and livelihoods of the affected population
 Monitor the progress of agro and livelihood activities through office work and regular field visits.
 Generate statistical and narrative reports of the file entrusted to this position
 Assist other team members in running field activities, including relief operation, as required.
 Translate from English to Arabic and vice-versa.


Qualifications
 University degree or professional diploma in Agriculture
 3 - 5 years work experience in a similar field
 Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
 Very good computer skills
 Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
 Good analytical skills

The ICRC works closely and supports the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) organization to provide food, water, healthcare and other forms of relief assistance to people affected by the fighting. The ICRC also visits people detained and helps them to stay in contact with their families. This service is also provided to families separated as a result of the fighting.
