Responsibilities
The overall objective of the Education & Protection volunteer is to ensure, under the responsibility of the Education and protection Manager, the implementation of activities related to Education and child protection within the frame of the project.
1- Implementing psychosocial activities:
- Ensures the Protection activities in schools.
- Conducts focus group discussion to assess needs
- Participates in the identification and selection of cases children at risk (according to standard vulnerability TGH criteria’s) and refers to TGH case workers in coordination with Education and Protection Officer,
- Creates and implements new adapted and tailored recreational activities to improve the children’s well being
- Ensures the awareness activities of the parents and communities on children’s rights and children’s wellbeing
- Implements awareness sessions related to child protection, and recreational activities.
2- Reporting, Communication and coordination:
- Report on the progress of the work-plan on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Participates in meetings regarding the activities of the project with the Line manager and provides updates.
- Monitors and communicates on the evolution of the context and actors ; reports immediately each unusual incident, event
- Evaluation of the program after its implementation, if required by the manager.
3- Providing awareness sessions with the community based approach or in the schools
- Monitors and contributes to the identification of the awareness needs.
- Conducts awareness sessions to the communities focusing on child protection.
- Conducts awareness sessions at schools or communities level on hygiene promotion and contribute to distribution of hygiene kits, as agreed with the education Program Manager in collaboration with other departments.
4- Participating in the implementation of Education activities and distribution:
- Participates the education activities in school if required by the manager.
- Participates in the BTL campaign among the communities of areas of intervention if required by the manager.
5- Contribute to data collection in the field
- To assist in carrying out all kinds of surveys in the field (WASH baseline/endline surveys, satisfaction surveys, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), KAP surveys, etc) in coordination with Education/Protection, WASH and MEAL teams, as agreed with the education Program Manager in collaboration with other departments.
- To collect the required data and ensure its quality.
- To provide Education/Protection, WASH and MEAL team with relevant feedbacks after data collection.

Qualifications
Qualification and experience:
- Experience in implementing activities related to child protection required.
- Experience in implementing activities related to hygiene awareness and WASH an asset.
- Experience in data collection and use of Kobo
- Bachelor Degree.
- Ability to follow up on a range of tasks.
- Good level in written and spoken English.
- Good computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-point.
Soft skills:
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective Communication.
- Adaptability.
- Problem Solving ability.
